Dominion Family Dentistry has been servicing the dental needs of the Truro region for over 50 years. Founded by Dr. John G. Cook in 1968, focusing on providing Truro families with comprehensive dental care. In October of 2006, Dr. Cathy Johnson acquired the practice from Dr. Cook. Dr. Johnson, graduated Dalhousie University with a Doctorate in Dental Surgery in 1991. Upon graduating, Dr. Johnson practiced dentistry in Truro at the Fundy Trail Dental Center for 4 years. In 1995, Dr. Johnson relocated to Oshawa, ON, where she built a successful practice within the King Ritson Dental Clinic. After 11 years, Dr. Johnson relocated home to Truro. In 2010, Dr. Johnson renovated the existing building to fit the historic feel of downtown Truro. While the exterior of the practice has a historic downtown Truro feel, the interior was updated to incorporate all the technologies of a modern dental practice.
