Meet The Doctor

  • Dr. Cathy Johnson

Dr. Cathy Johnson was born in Truro and grew up in Nova Scotia. Dr. Johnson graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Science in 1987 and a Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1991. After graduation, she returned to Truro in 1991, and practiced dentistry for 4 years at the Fundy Trail Mall Dental Clinic. In 1995 she relocated with her husband to Oshawa, Ontario and spent the next 11 years developing a busy practice, at King Ritson Dental Clinic. Working in a large clinic enabled Dr. Johnson to experience all the latest dental technologies. In 2006, Dr. Johnson and her family relocated home to Truro and purchased Dominion Family Dentistry from Dr. John Cook. Drs. Johnson and Cook’s comfortable and complete approach to patient care enabled a seamless transition between the new and previous owner.

Dr. Johnson is active in the Northern Nova Scotia Dental Society, having held the positions of President and Secretary for several years. She has also done committee work for the Nova Scotia Provincial Dental Association where her expertise is well regarded.

When not practicing dentistry, Dr. Johnson looks forward to spending family time with her three daughters. Dr. Johnson enjoys downhill skiing, hiking, boating, golfing and painting watercolors. She is also an avid reader and is always looking for the next great book.
